Brookfield Maple Products111 Plank Road Westfield, PA 16950 www.brookfieldmapleproducts.com Brookfield Maple Products are produced on the family farm, located in the Northwest corner of Brookfield Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Maple syrup has been made on the farm for many generations. Brookfield Maple Products started approximately 12 years ago in an old sugar shack in the woods, making just enough syrup for our families and friends. At that time, we had no running water or electric. It didn't hurt our feelings when that building burned down during a wildfire. After the fire, we installed a 2'x8' wood-fired evaporator in the garage. This enabled us to have electric, but running water consisted of a garden hose. In 1998, we renovated an old bookstore building on the farm, added hot and cold running water, and built an addition to make a new sugarhouse. Since that time, we have added and up-dated equipment every year. We now use a new 3'x12' oil-fired evaporator and a reverse osmosis,(RO) machine. Our new sugarhouse consists of five major areas, Evaporator room, Cold storage, RO room, Storage, and the Kitchen/Sales area. In 2004 we became "Certified Organic" through the "Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York". We are very proud to be able to offer our customers a "Certified Organic" choice. In 2005 we became equipment dealers for Lapierre, USA. Bud and Tina Bowers are the co-owners with Jim and Jackie Mills, Tina's parents. Bud and Jim take care of the every day activities from working in the Sugar Bushes to producing the finished products. Tina helps make the products and jug the syrup. Jackie is our chief sales person. She handles all craft fairs and events. Pam and Tyler, Bud and Tina's children, help throughout the year in the woods and packaging products. We all work very hard to insure only top quality products. We are members of the Potter / Tioga Maple Producers Association, PA Maple Producers, and the North American Maple Syrup Council. |
